Who I am

I graduated from the Royal Academy of Music, Aarhus, Denmark with a Bachelor of Music degree in Education and a Master of Music degree in piano performance and chamber music. I started playing the piano when I was 5 years old with Maria Raffaelli. During my five years at the Royal Academy I was a student of professor John Damgaard. After graduating I taught piano and general music at Billund School of Music, Billund, Denmark.

Before moving to New Jersey, I lived in Asia, and taught Music at Singapore International School and Hanoi International School in Vietnam. Besides teaching I have performed solo and collaborated with vocalists and instrumentalists.

Learning to play the piano

I am passionate about teaching and enjoy teaching children of different ages as well as adults, from beginners to advanced. My teaching is tailored to the individual, emphasizing tone production, technique and basic musicianship at all levels. I puts lots of effort into selecting repertoire for all students that will attract their interest, keep them motivated and help them to progress musically. I encourage performance in school recitals, workshops and competitions to motivate students and help achieve their best in a safe and supportive environment.
